2nd (top): An actuating force causes an ink droplet of nanoparticles to propel over a surface and deposit a pattern of nanoparticles. In this way the droplets can be used to print nanoparticle patterns over curved surfaces, even inside closed shapes such as on the insides of a glass tube (top right image).2nd (bottom):Three types of distinct deposition patterns can be printed by an actuated ink droplet, which are determined by the velocity at which the droplet is actuated. All three deposition patterns are ultra-thin-film layers of nanoparticles on the order of tens to few hundreds of nanometers thick.
