Dr. Soumadri Samanta completed his MSc in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India, in 2014. He then served as a Junior Research Fellow at IIT Kharagpur (2014–2016), where he investigated electrocatalytic properties of hybrid alloy nanostructures. In 2016, Dr. Samanta embarked on his PhD journey at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, India. His research, completed in 2022, focused on nanostructured graphitic carbon nitrides and their composites for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and sensing applications.

Post-PhD, Dr. Samanta joined Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, as a postdoctoral fellow in electrical engineering. From 2022 to 2024, his work centered on Meta-Nano-Channel (MNC) Silicon Field-Effect Biosensors, which enabled ultra-sensitive, specific, and label-free detection of biomolecules in ultra-small biological samples. Currently, Dr. Samanta is pursuing his second postdoctoral fellowship under Prof. Hossam Haick at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. His research focuses on developing cutting-edge miniaturized sensors for wireless monitoring of environmental pollutants through molecular communication and enabling non-invasive healthcare diagnostic.
