ABOUT US

The current research of the LNBD group include nano-array devices for screening, diagnosis and monitoring of disease, nanomaterial-based chemical (flexible) sensors, electronic skin, breath analysis, volatile biomarkers, and molecule-based electronic devices. Representative examples of the LNBD research combines knowledge from multi-disciplinary fields (microelectronics, nanotechnology, microfluidics, machine learning, biochemistry, medicine, genetics) into the development of novel solid-state and flexible devices/sensors as well as electronic sensory nanoarrays for applications in healthcare diagnosis, consumer electronics, robotics, sports and fitness, environmental monitoring, etc. This include the development and application of artificial olfactory system (so called, NA-NOSE) as well as electronic skin for diagnosis and monitoring of wide various diseases in non-invasive (either through breath and/or skin), fast, inexpensive, and low-power consumption manner. For optimal use of resources, the LNBD group carries out lab-track and clinical-track research in parallel. The end-point of the project will be a fully clinically validated, professional, and easy-to-use point-of-care platform. The LNBD research includes seven essential phases of materials developments, device development, system integration, testing the developed approaches in lab and clinical/technological environments, application of the developed approaches to real-world applications (e.g. disease diagnosis), widespread screening of high-risk factors and exploitation of the project results/hardware.
